baking with love

a family tradition

Our Story

At Davenford, we are proud to be a charming collection of independently owned tearooms and guesthouses nestled in the breathtaking Cotswolds. Founded and operated by Lis and Christiaan, our family-run business thrives on the passion and dedication of our exceptional team of bakers, chefs, and hospitality experts. We believe in creating a warm and welcoming environment where guests can enjoy delightful moments, whether it’s through a freshly baked treat or a cozy cup of tea.

As a family business, our teenage children are often seen around on weekends, sharing in the joys and challenges of our venture. Their energy and enthusiasm bring a vibrant spirit to Davenford, and we love watching them learn and grow alongside us. The success of our tearooms naturally led to the creation of the Cotswold Baking School, where we can share our love for baking and develop new cakes that have become favorites in our tearooms. Some of our most popular creations make their way into the baking school, allowing guests to learn the secrets behind these beloved treats.

Community

We also cherish our community connections and host a monthly get-together for retirees, where we provide a social morning filled with tea, coffee, and a selection of our delicious pastries. Our team has genuinely enjoyed getting to know our locals, fostering friendships that enrich our tearoom’s atmosphere. We hope you enjoyed a delightful afternoon baking treats with one of our team members and look forward to welcoming you back soon!
